The basic HTML code is the programming language used by most website developers. HTML is the principal mark up language for internet pages.

Html stands for HyperText Markup Language. The HTML provides a format for creating structural semantics for text like headings, paragraphs, links, quotes etc. The basic HTML code allows loading of scripts in different languages such as JavaScript. It is the basic language use by many web developers around the world.

The first specifications of the HTML were available as early as 1991. The Html specifications continued to develop but have been maintained since 1996 because the sponsors of the IETF stalled further development due to competing interests. Nevertheless, the basic HTML code became an internationally recognized standard in 2000. There have been several inputs to the version by several commercial vendors.
